Roses

Recently Tim Holtz did his 12 Tags of Christmas and I fell in love with his Grungepaper Roses. I made one and then decided to make three and make a table decoration. I painted a CD with Luminere paints and then place the roses with a leaf in between each one.

We have just had our wonderful City Meets Country Stamp Camp at Quorrobolong in the Hunter Valley. Such a beautiful spot.
Mylene Hillam, www.milllanestudio.com; http://milllanestudio.blogspot.com, was our demonstrator for the weekend.
We played with Friendly Plastic, made a bookmark from a Venetian blind slat as well as a card with corrugated cardboard.
I also made several more Joy Bathie Collages.
We had an interesting visitor on Sunday morning as well!!

Silver Tag

7 of the players in the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat decided to make extra tags. This is my silver one. I used silver building tape which I stamped & embossed and then embossed again with my Cuttlebug. I had this lovely dreamy image which I attached and embossed with Black silver Embossing powder. On the back I have printed the words of "Beautiful Dreamer".

Joy Bathie Workshop

Last weekend 12 lucky ladies spent the weekend with Joy Bathie at Lemon Tree Passage.
The workshop was fantastic and Joy was patient & encouraging to all. It is no mean feat running from one person to another, all at different stages of creating and doing it so well! Congratulations Joy and thank you so much.

Amazing Technicolour Dreambook

Almost all the tags are in for this fantastic book. The work has been amazing and I am just itching to put it all together & clinch those Zutter coils in place.
This is my front cover. I thought I had finished it but wasn't happy so I highlighted the stenciled parts with my Gold Krylon pen & am much happier now.

50th Birthday Card

One of my girlfriends had her 50th birthday recently. I made this card for her. The base is a CD painted with Lumieres. I stamped it with Stazon, I then gave it a coat of Jo Sonja's Opal Dust. The figure is a mould from Krafty Lady I used Opals. The Opals often come out a bit dull so I gave it a blast with the heat gun and it has left it with a wet finish...cool.

The Amazing Technicolour Dreambook

I made this tag for the Chunky Books "Amazing Technicolour Dreambook" Just for a change I decided to make my colour red. No one seemed surprised!

Black & White ATC

I made this ATC for a swap I recently hosted.
Good old Charlie!

ABC ATCs

Some friends and I were talking about doing an ABC set of ATCs. I find it very hard to create anything without some kind of influence. As this discussion came about just before Mother's Day I decided to do mine with Mum in mind. I have only done 4 so far so this will be an ongoing thing for quite a while.
B - Blue - one of Mum's preferred colours
C - Cat - a photo of Mum in her Girl Guides outfit with her cat sitting on the fence
D - Dream - I am sure she had many.
F - Fred & Floss - yes, Dad & Mum - this photo was taken in July 1993

I have ideas for some other letters but need to get on with some swaps first.

Medieval ATC

Last month's Paperarts ATC swap was Medieval. So I just had to use my skeleton stamp, as well as my cobweb Embossing folder. I bought the ATC shape from Scrapmatts, they have a great variety of styles.

Blog Award

I have been honoured with a blog award!!! I was nominated by a dear friend of many years Martina. How exciting!!
The guidelines are "These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these kind writers."
The friends I have found since I joined some yahoo groups are truly amazing, some of them I am sure I will be friends with forever!
I would like to pass this award on to a number of people beginning with:
Rob who was also nominated by Martina, I am not sure if I am allowed to nominate her again, but I am going to anyway. We share a very special friendship and I am so greatful to her for all her support and admire the way she has dealt with all the curve balls life has thrown her the last couple of years.
Chris who is a very dear friend, we have so much fun together online & offline.
Harloquin is someone I met during the One World One Heart event and I was lucky enough to win one of her prizes. I love her blog.
Marie is another blogger I met during the OWOH event, she takes the most amazing photos and I am lucky to have been the recipent of three of them.
And last but most certainly not least Lisa the creator of One World One Heart, she has put so much energy into the event, I have no idea how she managed it.
Thank you all for making my life richer in so many ways.

Pink & Brown ATC

The latest of the colour ATC swap was Pink & Brown. Not my colours at all, but here is my effort. I love the pearlised cardstock & the bird stamp embossed with Moon Glow two tone Embossing Powder in Pumpkin/Fiesta.

Stamp Camp

Well it was a wonderful weekend with like minded friends. Fantastic venue, good healthy food, just the best place to be!

There was no structure but for me it was head down & bum up. I finished a couple of projects then I started to play. It was great to be reminded of how to do things and to be introduced to new techniques.
I have attached a couple of cards that I made up from the images I stamped up & coloured on the weekend. I used Photoart stamps & Distress Inks to colour them.

Napkins

A friend of mine sent me some napkins the other day and I felt this one was too beautiful not to be displayed. I had some 4 x 4 canvases, so I cut the napkin down & attached it with gel medium. I then highlighted a couple of areas with Dimensional Magic. I actually think I prefer it not highlighted, so if I can get another napkin I will redo them.

Altered Jigsaws

This is from another Tut at 2cre8art. I have altered quite a few jigsaw pieces in the past but haven't done any for a while so it was fun to spend some time on them this week. I have only completed one but will get to the others in a week or so. I am going to camp this coming week so need to get myself & family organised before Thursday.

Quiltie

I recently followed a tutorial on 2cre8art and it confirmed my belief that I am not a natural with needle & thread. I gave it a go and it is OK, but I would not pass it on to anyone. I used the image that Barb used on hers because I simply loved it, however the blue pattern from the background fabric showed through so it isn't as crisp as it could be. Thanks for the challenge Barb.

Sympathy Card

I made this card today, I got the idea from Amazing Paper Grace.

I like the flourish idea. Although it is not obvious in the scan the c/s for the card itself & the flourish are pearlised which gives them a lovely soft appearance. The paper I stamped on is good quality recycled paper. I used pearls on the ends of each flourish & my Nesties Labels 2 die cut.

Red Grace

I do love this image of Grace Kelly. I usually do the cards in black & white but decided to go with....yes Red!

Green & Gold ATC

The first ATC swap for this year I made Green & Gold to celebrate Australia Day.

I gave my cuttlebug a good workout for this one.

Red & Yellow ATC

I ran another ATC swap at the end of last year. It was Red....yes Red, why do you seem surprised, anyway, it was red & yellow. A great success.

Elegant Birthday

I have a friend who is soon to celebrate a special zero birthday. I have not seen her for a number of years but thought she might like this elegant card.

Boney Moroney

This is a fun card which would be great for those who celebrate Halloween. I just love this old bag of bones!
